- This disk (ZIPFILE) contains one or more utility programs to assist the ACARS
- enthousiast with the decoding of ACARS messages (Log Files), which have been
- saved with Lowe Airmaster ver 2.00 ACARS recieving program.
-
-
- TEST.LOG : ACARS Logfile
- ACASORT.EXE : Ver. 1.10 message sorting and decoding program
- Read.me : This File
- IATA.TXT : IATA en ICAO Airport Identifiers
-
-
- ACASORT.EXE
-
- 1. Version 1.10 sorts the Acars messages on Registration numbers (Callsign)
- and saves each heard aircraft in a seperate file i.e. Aircraft reg :
- .PA0DAL, .G-DOCE. will be saved as -PA0DAL and -G-DOCE.
-
- 2. Message label: B6, this will be decoded as = Provide ADS report (PAR)
- if the message label is unknown to the program, than it will be not be
- decoded and no message will be generated (since the test message QO
- never contains any text therefore it will not be saved).
-
- 3. Flight id : This will be decoded as the Carrier name and country of
- origin
-
- 4. Only those messages which contain text or only even one printable
- character will be saved in the diectory c:\acars\log\data\ the filename
- will be the same as the Registration number (callsign) of the aircraft
- such as -PH-DAL, -G-KEES etc etc.
- At this time I have made no provisions as to edit the files from within
- the program. So for the time being the user must supply and use his/her
- editor, I find the Ascii editor on the Norton Commander very suitable to
- edit the messages.
-
- 5. The decoded files will not be sorted, also the program does
- not test for existing message numbers therefore you will see the same
- message in a certain file more than once (this will be fixed in
- ver 1.20).
